Kitchen Associate
Help run the Chill Country kitchen!
We're hiring a Kitchen Associate to join our small production team. You'll be involved in the full daily flow: measuring and prepping ingredients, cooking, hand-finishing batches, packaging, and keeping the kitchen clean and organized. This role is hands-on, varied, and you'll work the full production cycle alongside the rest of the team.
We're looking for someone reliable, detail-oriented, and with a general positive attitude. Someone who takes pride in even the mundane tasks, and wants to be part of an organization they believe in.
Chill Country is a mission-driven cannabis company based in Austin, Texas. We make delicious handcrafted edibles, in-house, using high quality organic ingredients.
You’ll find Chill Country gummies on shelves at hundreds of retail stores across Texas, and online at chillcountry.com. Our goal is to be the most trusted brand in Texas for quality cannabis products.
In addition to providing Texans with access to quality, legal cannabis products, we also support 100s of independent artists through our Texas music series, Chill Country Sessions.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily production: measuring and prepping ingredients, cooking gummies, hand-finishing batches, and packaging finished product.
- Follow our food safety protocols and operational SOPs at every step — accuracy and consistency matter more than speed in our kitchen.
- Keep the kitchen and equipment clean, organized, and ready for the next shift.
- Help with inventory tracking, raw material handling, and routine kitchen maintenance.
- Contribute ideas for improving our processes — we're a small team and good ideas land fast.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, food manufacturing, or production environment is a plus — but we'll teach you what you need to know if you're a quick learner.
- Strong attention to detail and a habit of doing things the right way, every time.
- Comfortable on your feet for a full shift and lifting up to 40 lbs occasionally.
- Curious, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy kitchen.
- A genuine interest in cannabis, food production, or both.
- 21+ minimum age requirement.
